How the Process Works with InfiniteMD
Step 1: Request a Consult
If you want to schedule a video consultation with The GCS Project-affiliated physician expert, Dr. Birrer, and you have a confirmed diagnosis of gynecologic carcinosarcoma (GCS), also known as malignant mixed Müllerian tumor (MMMT), please submit your contact and relevant information on the InfiniteMD website form (Click here) to submit your information. InfiniteMD will get back to you within 24 hours of submission.
Within 3 businesses days, a clinical case manager from InfiniteMD will be in touch with you to review the complexity of your case. An Expert Second Opinion ranges from $2,000-$2,500, depending upon whether record translation and/or interpretation over video is needed. (The GCS Project does not receive any compensation from this service.)
Step 2: Medical Records Collection
Your medical records will be requested and summarized for Dr. Birrer. Once you complete the online Records Release Form, one of InfiniteMD’s case managers will contact your primary oncologist to collect the necessary records. All medical records are kept strictly confidential within the scope of this service. Depending on the responsiveness of your physician’s office staff, this is usually completed in 10 business days.
Step 3: Schedule Your 30-minute Expert Virtual Consultation
Once InfiniteMD obtains your medical records and summarizes your case, they will make an appointment for you with Dr. Birrer based on availability and urgency. They will provide time slots to choose from.
Step 4: Have Your Virtual Visit
A 30-minute video consultation will then take place between you and Dr. Birrer. The InfiniteMD platform is very easy to use and available on most web-enabled devices. InfiniteMD staff is always there to offer technical support if needed.
Step 5: Post-Consultation Summary
Following the visit, you will receive a summary report of your consultation within a few business days. This report will be written by Dr. Birrer, which you can then share with your treating physician and keep for your own records.
