(Repost) I was diagnosed with stage IIIC ovarian cancer (MMMT) in Jan 2017 at age 49. I underwent an abdominal hysterectomy, small and large intestine resection, appendectomy, splenectomy and omentectomy. As everything happened so quickly for me I was operated on by a general surgeon at our local hospital. This haunts me somewhat now as everywhere I read they say to have a gynecologist oncologist operate for better results. I had 18 weeks of chemo; first week Carboplatin followed by two weeks of Taxol. I also obtained a 2nd opinion at the UW Carbone Cancer Center in Madison, Wisconsin. I am 6 months post chemo now and scans are clear and CA125 is very low. Previous to this I was seemingly healthy, working full time, taking care of my family and rarely sick. Now I take each day as a blessing. I have monthly blood checks and a cat-scan every 3 months. I’m so thankful to find this site for support and information on MMMT. Thank you so much Dianne for working to provide this resource.
