Hi! I am 66 years old (67 on June 11). I had two referrals on Mon, Jan 8, 2018 - a GYN and a Gastroenterology. I’d had on-going GI issues and a strong feeling something was not right. My GYN Specialist ordered a pelvic ultrasound that was done the same day. The ultrasound showed a thickened endometrium and a D&C /w biopsy was done on Fri, Jan 12. I got a GCS diagnosis on Tues, Jan 16. I’ve chosen Dr. Alpa Nick and TN Oncology in Nashville, TN - I live in Franklin, TN. My PET Scan on Tues, Jan 23 showed no metastasis. My Total Laproscopic Hysterectomy was done Tues, Jan 30. I have an appointment on Tues, Feb 6 to get the Pathology results and discuss our path forward.
Thank you for sharing your story Hope. Coincidentally, I was treated by Dr. Nick when she was at MD Anderson and I was a patient there. I think she is brilliant. Congratulations on no metastasis. It is a long road and you have many decisions to make. If there is anything we can do to support you, please let us know. I would like to know the treatment that Dr. Nick recommends. We are very interested to know how patients are being treated and their response to treatment.
Thanks again Hope and best to you and you move forward on this difficult journey.
